The dojo is owned and operated by Sensei Ken Marvin. We have been in business since the year 2000 and have been sharing our arts with as many people as possible. Some instructors are black belts in Nihon Goshen Aikido, black belts in Tae Kwon Do, and have been in Action Martial Arts Magazine's Hall of Honors. Some have knowledge of other arts including Koga Ryu Ninjutsu, American Nippon Jujutsu, Japanese Jujitsu, and Judo. A variety of martial arts are combined into effective use at the Aikido Academy. We hope that you may be the next person we share our knowledge with.
The Critical Need
It is everyone's right to defend themselves against harm. We believe it is better to have training in self defense and never be put in a situation where you need to use it, than to be in a situation when you need training in self defense and never have taken the time for the training.
By practicing Martial Arts, one will benefit in many ways, including:
Physically: Good coordination, toning, reduction of weight, improved flexibility, cardiovascular conditioning, increased strength, general fitness.
Mentally: Self-confidence, self-discipline, better judgment, self-control, stress reduction, better self-image, positive attitude.
Philosophically: Martial Arts stand for and promote the principle of honesty, courtesy, humility, respect, courage, generosity, loyalty and perseverance.
*No cost to try class. Visitors always welcomed*
